Jonah Hex: Two-Gun Mojo #5

In an unexpected turn of events, Hex is compelled to join forces with Doc "Cross" Williams, the undead Wild Bill Hickok, and a group of retired army soldiers to fend off a violent Chiricahua Apache raiding party. Hex forms an alliance with one of the soldiers, and together they orchestrate a strategic retreat while firing upon the advancing Apaches. As dusk falls, the soldier starts to succumb to an infection from an Apache arrow wound. Determined not to become a victim of the Chiricahua, the soldier ends his own life. Hex, seizing the Sarge's horse, circles back to the original battle site. There, he discovers that Doc Williams has established a camp in the hills. Driven by a lack of food, Williams has resorted to killing, cooking, and eating Ramona – the heavyset lady from his traveling show. Hex warns Cross that the Apaches will spot his campfire and seek him out, intent on subjecting him to a slow and brutal death. Williams commands Wild Bill to eliminate Jonah, but Hex outwits the zombie and blows off the top of Hickok's head. Terrified, Williams begs Jonah for protection. Jonah responds by shooting him in both knees and abandoning him for the Apaches to discover.
