Louis Martin strives to maintain a semblance of normalcy, repairing VCRs at the electronics store where he is employed. His routine is disrupted when he encounters Martin Lewis, the individual destined to inherit his powers, along with the superhuman team he is meant to join. Meanwhile, Yoof has assembled a group of thugs and their mugger, bestowing upon them new superpowers with the intent to annihilate the "heroes" as they observe from their spacecraft.
